About Us

Our Founder: Dr. M. Vijayabhanu Shetty, founded the Dr. U. Krishna Muniyal Memorial Trust (R) in the name of his father, Late Dr. U. Krishna, a freedom fighter who had practiced Ayurveda in Muniyal for forty years. Dr. U. Krishna was a student of Late Pandith Taranath, a great Ayurveda scholar. Pandith Taranath had treated Mahatma Gandhi on several occasions and he used to perform Parakãya Pravesha (one's consciousness entering into another's body) for treatment. Ancestors of the Muniyal family used to treat patients with all types of ailments successfully by using holy water enchanted with sacred and auspicious hymns.

  

Governing Body of the Trust:-

  • Dr. M. Vijayabhanu Shetty, Managing Trustee, and the brain behind the Trust, started his career, with degrees in Ayurveda (BSAM & BAMS from Bangalore University), as a medical practitioner. Dr. Shetty started manufacturing and marketing Ayurvedic medicines in 1985. His research products for diabetes, alcoholism, arthritis, cardiac problems, bronchitis, uterine & liver disorders, amoebiasis & obesity have proved to be very effective. He has presented papers on his products in many a seminars and conferences. Many articles have been published about his products and his organisation in leading newspapers and magazines of the country.

  • Dr. M. Aravind Shetty, is a GP in Scotland, UK, having more than 4000 patients. His medical service of 35 years in the UK and his work on "Caring the Carers" was appreciated by the Princess Royal. He will assist the trust in developing hospitals.

  • Dr. Yellappa Reddy, a well known environmentalist, is our Chief Advisor for herbal research (vrakshayurveda). He was a highly efficient Conservator of Forests and at present is a Governing Council Member of Ecology Council of India, and Chairman, Task Force, Irrigation Dept., Govt. of Karnataka.
  • Mr. A. R. Hegde, has a brilliant record and rank in Master of Pharmacy. He has served as Managing Director of Astra Zeneca, apart from serving many reputed multi-national and Indian pharmaceutical companies in senior management positions. He will guide The Trust in developing the pharmaceutical wing; the quality control division in particular.
  • Mrs. Hemalatha Shetty,Treasurer, a graduate in economics and statistics, is the leading force in our effort of preserving medicinal plant treasures.
  • Mr. Chiranjeeth Ajila, Secretary, our legal advisor and an expert in human resource management, is basically an agriculturist with a keen interest in cultivation of herbal plants by organic farming methods.
  • Dr. Jeevan Shetty, M.R.C.P., is a Cancer Specialist in Glasgow, Scotland. He will be assisting the Trust in establishing its prestigious project of an International Holistic Cancer Research Institute.
  • Mrs. Mrinalini B. Shetty, is our Financial Advisor with more than 20 years of banking experience.
